In-home computer repair

I troubleshoot the computer where you actually use it.

I come to homes and small offices within 20 driving miles of my Greater Katy business base for Windows problems, slow PCs, hardware upgrades, setup, and everyday tech issues.

Problems I handle

A practical first stop for PC and laptop trouble.

I focus on clear diagnosis and sensible options. If replacement makes more sense than repair, I’ll say so before you spend more.

Slow, freezing, or crashing

I check startup load, storage condition, updates, drivers, overheating symptoms, and common software causes.

Windows and malware problems

I address update failures, login or profile trouble, suspicious pop-ups, unwanted software, and browser problems.

SSD, RAM, and component upgrades

I verify compatibility, quote the part separately, install it, and perform basic tests before I call the work complete.

New PC and home-office setup

I can set up a new Windows computer, printer, router, accounts, updates, backups, and file transfers.

During the visit

I keep the work understandable.

I start with the symptoms you have noticed and the result you want. I inspect only what is relevant, explain what I find, and ask before I change the scope or order a part.

My in-home minimum is $89 for arrival, intake, and the first 30 minutes. Flat-rate services replace that minimum rather than stack on top of it. Parts, applicable tax, and any travel charge are separate and approved first.

Many software and setup jobs can be completed in one visit. Hardware repairs that need a model-specific part usually require a diagnostic visit and a return appointment after the part arrives.

Common questions

Before I come to you.

Do I need to unplug my computer?

No. Leave it set up if possible so I can see the problem in its normal environment. Save any open work before the appointment.

Do you repair Macs, phones, or game consoles?

My published services focus on Windows PCs, laptops, and home-office technology. Send the exact device and issue; I’ll tell you honestly whether it is within my scope.

Will my files be safe?

I limit access to what the job requires, but no repair can eliminate the risk from failing hardware or existing corruption. You are responsible for a current backup; I can quote backup help before higher-risk work.

Do you guarantee that every device can be fixed?

No. Some devices have unavailable parts, hidden damage, encryption, or repair costs that exceed their value. I diagnose first and explain the practical choices.

Where do you travel?

Travel is included within 10 one-way driving miles of my Greater Katy business base. Over 10 through 20 miles is $15 per visit, plus applicable tax, paid before the visit. Addresses over 20 miles are outside my service area. See the travel terms.
